I was inspired to write this song when I read a story in an ancient book called the Srimad Bhagavatam about a very majestic and handsome king named Maharaja (king) Prthu. He had all good qualities and a very beautiful and loyal Queen. Though he was in posession of opulences beyond belief, he always remained unattached and equipoised in all circumstances. Near the end of his life, just to fortify the genuinity of his spiritual practice, he renounced all of his opulences by handing them over to his sons, and went to the forest to meditate. Upon his passing, both his wife and he were carried to the mystical abode of Vaikuntha by magical airplanes which were navigated by celestial beings.
lyrics
Nobody told me
that this life would end
But I guess that I figured it out,
I don't know how you couldn't
Oh, where do we go?
Oh, how do you know?
Oh, where do we go?
Oh, how do you know?
Well nobody told me
That time counts our days
But we've got clocks and we've got calendars
Watching time fly away
And when it's over
Tell me what happens then?
Well may be it's nothing at all
In that case why would we bother
Oh, where do we go?
Oh, tell me if ya know!
Oh, where do we go?
Oh, doesn't anybody know?!
I dreamed of a place where there's stars and there's elephants
How do we get there? well once I've been told...
There's this way, and there's that way, but they all say
Just to make yourself known to the one who calls it home
Make yourself known, to the one who calls it home...
Vaikuntha, Vaikuntha
Take me to Vaikuntha, Vaikuntha
Vaikuntha, Vaikuntha
Take me to Vaikuntha, Vaikuntha...
Imagine a place where there is no anxiety
No fear to chain you down, nothing to hide
All knots within the heart will be untied
And your soul will be satisfied
Vaikuntha, Vaikuntha
Take me to Vaikuntha, Vaikuntha
Vaikuntha, Vaikuntha
Will we make it to Vaikuntha, Vaikuntha...
They say when you get there
That you'll never return
Is it my turn?
Take me, take me, take me,
Take me home!
